The Creative Studio: Peacemakers Training on Art Therapy has been successfully completed. The six days workshop on the creative art was Organized by CAPS ( Central Association of Psychology Student) and  supported by Central Department of Psychology Tribuvan University, Kirtipur Nepal.

The Creative Studio merges methods of expressive art and narrative therapy to help ease difficult emotions. Art helps release the emotions that are bottled up and makes it visible on paper. By capturing the trauma on paper, artwork shifts the trauma away from the individual and allows the individual to view the trauma clearly in a non-threatening way. Talking about symbolized trauma is easier and improves the healing process.

“As the circle of one season recedes and then begins the next, we too have lived a season of our life, yet it has been different vintage all together, we feel we have lived the rainbow of seasons. During the days of our art and narrative therapy, we have basked on the warmth of love, acceptance, faith, respect, support, open-mindedness, discipline, responsibility, positive thinking, tolerance, morality, understanding, compassion, companionship, determination, forgiveness, unconditional love, humor and the list goes on and on till it get all lost in the eternal nature of life and we come back surviving the blows of life.
Art is the language of life it’s a book full of colorful pictures, pictures about ones’ faith, philosophy, ethics, planning, dreams, emotions etc and thus it is different for everyone just as our finger stamps.  So are the experiences and thus here I am lost in the jumble of thoughts, how should I produce the essence of each session cause that is what I am here for.
However, one truth from the bottle of my life is all these days, I have lived a vulnerable life, just as the surgeon cuts open up the ailing part to heal it, I feel my heart and mind was left open all these days, so I was in danger of being infected every moment, and eventually I have survived and come alive in the battle of dark and bright side of my life. I have been healed by the abilities I possess and the ability I saw in my circle of life-mates.
So, the one who helped me and U and us bounce back with even more strength and vigor is our facilitator Mr. Raj Kaji Prajapati, he has been a guiding light to project our positivity in the screen of life. We would like to share a mountain of gratitude and humility with him.
And here I present the title of the stories which triggered our unconscious content and a line of thought of ours with each one of them as a gist.
Our first day session began at 11 am with little brain storming on art. And with the code of ethics such as active listening, non-judgmental attitude and confidentiality, we proceeded with humanistic approach.
The first narration was titled ‘Moon Cannot be stolen’. The introspection of the story taught us that knowledge cannot be stolen.
Then we continued with ‘the vast sky’ and vowed to ourselves to make our heart, mind, our capacity to accept as big and open as the sky.
We moved slowly and steadily and tried to discover ‘the earth within ourselves’
So began our journey towards the second day, ‘with the flow’ learnt from an old man to the old river.
And with the river came, one more nostalgia of ‘being a tree of refuge and nurturance’. And with the wisp of wind from the tree, we rotated our pin wheel of life full of life changing teaching from our parents, teacher and friends.
However, we knew life can’t be so easy, so we even stopped by to learn lesson from ants, and slowly we proceed to our shiny land.
We sang songs of nature, such as ‘this little guiding light of mind, I am gonna let it shine let it shine- this little guiding light of mine’. Indeed we discovered many hidden places in our journey.
And all these times, we kept asking ourselves, what guides us, what keeps us alive, we discovered a ‘love light’ within each of us, which pulls us together and gives us life.
We kept going deeper and deeper and found the jewel ornament and as we made our come-back, we were determined to leave our presence in the world as ripples of peace. With a vow to trade the path of life together forever and with the rainbow of colors that we have generated through all these days effort, we have created new path, which has the capacity of heal and transform lives.
